Boston based visual artist, Ryan Arthurs approached me after the completion of his book The Height of Land to redesign his portfolio website. It was clear after our first meeting that we needed to create a site where his photography took center stage. Not only when a user was at home looking via laptop but also while they were wandering a gallery looking at his recent work.

From paper prototypes to wireframe mock ups, we worked to optimize every inch of Ryan's site to showcase his work. Which ranges from natural landscapes to black and white portraits. Simplifing the layout helped leverage the negative space to draw attention to his photography. Creating a elegant contrast between the website design and the artwork.
